“Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are pleased to share a heartwarming
update from our fieldwork in the remote
Chepang village. Thanks to your continued
support, Peace Himalaya recently initiated
the construction of a temporary learning
centre for Chepang children who previously
had no access to a school nearby.”
Currently, 18 children are benefiting from this new learning centre. An additional 10 children are in the pipeline to join. Before this initiative, the children used to gather in the front yard of a kind villager’s house for informal lessons. With this simple but vital structure in place, they now have a dedicated space to sit, learn, and grow in a safer and more stable environment. Our dedicated volunteer is working with the children to teach them basic literacy, the alphabet and foundational skills with the hope that someday, they will be able to catch up and join formal education, even if that school lies far away. Last year, four of our children managed to enrol in such a school in a distant village, a small but meaningful step forward. However, some older children who missed school in earlier years are still with us, and we continue to support them with patience and care. This center is not a final solution, but a bridge, a first step toward a better future. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, and this humble initiative is a testament to that belief. We sincerely thank all of you who helped make even this smallest act of charity possible. With your help, we will continue to improve the lives and learning conditions of these vulnerable children. With gratitude and hope,
Peace Himalaya Team
